Remote disease monitoring

Remote disease monitoring is crucial for patients who live in rural or remote locations, are unable to tolerate journeys to and from hospital, or have clinical conditions which require high-frequency monitoring.

OJ-Bio devices are light, portable and give results in minutes - but they also come with in-built communications capability, the ability to send results through wireless networks for clinical feed-back, intervention, or administrative use. They can even be tracked by GPS technology if required.

Surface acoustic wave transducers
Our products use surface acoustic wave (SAW) transducers to translate antibody-antigen binding events into an electronic signal - these components are routinely used in mobile phones and other electronic devices.

They are robust, cost-effective and well suited for mass manufacture. When combined with our bio-selective coatings they form highly sensitive biochips able to simply detect disease-specific antigens in serum, saliva, or urine samples.This makes OJ-Bio devices ideal for remote disease monitoring, with many applications for rural use or situations where clinical readings are needed without patient transfer. They are equally well-suited for use in High Street or walk-in clinics and for consumer diagnostic applications.
